Assoc Prof Attila Mozer’s research interest is understanding electron transfer and charge transport mechanisms in organic electronic materials, with the ultimate aim of higher solar to electrical energy conversion efficiency. The specific aim is to enhance interfacial electron transfer rates between organic molecules without increasing the thermodynamic driving force for the reaction. Another topic is investigating the effect of increased dielectric screening on charge separation and recombination in organic solar cells. He develops charge extraction and transient absorption techniques combined with electrochemical characterization to measure electron transfer and charge transport properties, while new materials are designed and synthesized in collaboration with colleagues in Australia and Japan.
