David’s research interests focus on applying novel technical solutions to overcome challenges. In OPVs, David’s focus has been on understanding the relationships between processing and properties of layers and interfaces in organic solar cells through novel approaches to fabrication with a view to scale up the technology. This has included the relationship between thickness and properties such as work function as well as understanding and controlling the structure of the bulk heterojunctions. David’s other research interests include novel polymerisation and processing, and the formation and application of nanoparticles.
