Research summary
Professor Ian Gentle’s research is primarily into the structure and properties of new and existing materials for optoelectronic devices such as OLEDs, solar cells and sensors. His focus is on the structure of thin organic films and in particular their interfacial properties and how they evolve under the influence of temperature and processing conditions. Understanding the diffusion of organic materials between layers in devices in real time has been a particular interest.
